Statement of Need:

Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) kill almost 21 million people each year (WHO)- 82% of whom are in the developing world- and by 2010, it has become the leading cause of death in these countries.
In Egypt, heart disease claims the lives of approximately 210,000 people every year which is 23% of total deaths according to the latest WHO data published in 2014.

تتسبب أمراض القلب والأوعية الدموية بوفاه ما يقرب من 21 مليون شخص سنوياً (حسب تقديرات منظمة الصحة العالمية) – 82% منهم من الدول النامية – وبحاول عام 2010، أصبحت السبب الرئيسى للوفاة فى هذه البلدان وفى مصر، أمراض القلب تودى بحياة ما يقرب من 210.000 شخص سنوياً. وتتزايد المخاطر المتعلقة بأمراض القلب وتشمل السمنة، والتدخين ومرض السكري بنسبة تنذر بالخطر فى هذا الجزء من العالم.

The Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation has embarked on a truly exceptional project that is of enormous significance to the health and well-being of the people throughout Egypt and beyond.
Our core objective was represented in establishing, along the banks of the river Nile in Aswan- Upper Egypt, a centre of excellence and international standing thus, providing hope, improving life chances and serving the children, young people and adults in the whole region.
In line with this vision, the Aswan Heart Centre offers an exciting new development in cardiovascular surgery, treatment and research seeking to transfer knowledge, skills and experience across the region and help create a biomedical and innovation knowledge base which can be exported to the world at large.
Since its establishment in the year 2008, MYF has committed to build and maintain a state-of-the-art medical facility in the city of Aswan, Egypt. Which aims primarily to provide free medical services as well as giving due attention to advanced training programs for personnel while focusing on a wide variety of research opportunities.

مؤسسة مجدى يعقوب هى مؤسسة أهلية مصرية غير هادفة للربح تعمل فى مجال الرعاية الصحي، تم تأسيسها فى نهاية عام 2008 بمبادرة من الدكتور (سير) مجدي يعقوب جراح القلب العالمي، الراحل الدكتور أحمد زويل والسفير محمد شاكر، لتلبية الحاجة الملحة للعلاج المجاني لأمراض القلب. وقد عملت المؤسسة على تحقيق ذلك من خلال إنشاء مركز أسوان للقلب في صعيد مصر.

مهمتنا

• توفير أحدث وأفضل الخدمات الطبية المجانية خاصة للفئات الأقل حظا مع اعطاء أولوية لمرضى القلب من الأطفال وذلك وفقا لأفضل المستويات العالمية.
• تدريب جيل جديد يمثل الصف الثانى من شباب الأطباء والممرضين والاحثين وعلى أعلى المستويات الطبية الدولية.
• تبني البحث العلمى كجزء اساسى من برنامج المؤسسة وتطوير بحث الطب الحيوي في مصر.
