BA Arts Center

In light of the BA general goals of devoting an equal forum to the varied expressions of the arts in all its forms, the AC film program continued for the tenth year to host screenings from all over the world. All genres were presented in the program, including fiction, documentary, experimental and animation. The BA Orchestra concerts have been presented to the general public on a regular basis to promote for classical music. The BA stages as a venue of self-expression have given lots opportunities to young performing artists to excel and reach new audiences. On the side of visual arts, the number of art works that have been added to the AC art collection since April 2011 till now is 525 artworks to reach a total number of 2665 artworks on hand, the number of art works that are currently show in offices and public areas around the BA are 860 artworks. The AC have celebrated various high profile events such as the BA International Biennale for Miniature Graphics ( 2nd round ), the Resident Artist Project 2011 and the Alexandria International Symposium For Sculpture in Natural Materials ( 6th Round- Ceramic). The AC Museums played a stunning role in working with volunteers from the Faculty of Fine Arts, upgrading and archiving the system of collections, organizing Museum-related lectures and events and participating in building PEM project (Patrimoines En Mouvement) website. The AC also gave an equal attention to the children activities where it organized two main programs for the summer vacation and the mid-year vacation. The programs included workshops in both plastic arts and performing arts serving over seven hundred trainees aged between five to seventeen years old including children from Orphanages and civil society Organizations.
